Most of my time during the day is spent at home, automating that living space is vital. Luckily I found a way that makes it not only easy to do but works. By using the Amazon Echo along with and controllers from Insteon I am able to:

Control my bedroom ceiling fan and light.
Turn my television on and off.
Control various lights both in my office and around the home.
Listen to music.
Set alarms for meds and wake up.
After random silly questions.

There are hundreds if not thousands of ways to implement home automation with Amazon Echo and several other compatible devices specific to the control of your home.

You can purchase directly through Amazon.com/Echo for $179 and to my experience is worth every penny. It’s simple enough to where your grandmother could use it and set it up all by her lonesome. There’s also new applications being developed every day in the form of “skills” these can be used to do simple tasks like tell you a funny joke or complex task like handling home automation.

Another good tool if you have not used it before is ifttt.com which is an intermediary application that allows certain programs online to do functions automatically. So say I want to post all my tweets onto Facebook this will allow me to do that without having to post to several different pages thereby automating the process.

The Amazon Echo is laid out simply and functionally. The first step to setting it up is to just link it between your wireless router and your PC or tablet synchronize the two and you’re done. Amazon creates a great setup page that walks you through the process and takes about 10 minutes. Amazon prime users will be glad to know that all their prime music can be listened to through this device as well as a myriad of other applications and sites like Pandora and Iheartradio.

I want to place this short blurb here so that people can understand that if I can use this device and it assist me in my day-to-day activities than able-bodied should really love this. To support the page with the link below purchase one let me know how you like it in the comment section below.
